Christians to help Christians carry legal burdens.

Family disputes are often the most difficult part of a person’s life. Like a death in the family, these challenges mark a significant change in the lives of the entire family. Whether the dispute is expected or sudden, Jesus calls us to walk with one another through these difficult times.

We have been called by the Lord to serve Christians as they face the legal challenges that come from these family difficulties. We have been blessed by the Lord in this calling, and we seek to empower the Church to minister to those struggling with family challenges, to help them bear their burdens, and to walk with them on the road to freedom and healing that only the Lord Jesus Christ can provide.

A Christian lawyer is important to any Christian when facing any challenges that can lead to litigation or legal dispute. Not only are we called to seek justice (Matthew 23:23), but we are also called to be peacemakers wherever possible (1 Corinthians 6), and a Christian lawyer is called to provide critical Biblical encouragement and guidance to Christians in the midst of their trouble (Romans 15:14).

Sacred Harbor is a ministry that primarily supports the Christian attorneys providing legal assistance to people served by Christian ministries. Christian attorneys often provide services for free or at significantly reduced rates to people who cannot otherwise afford legal representation. Through the support of this ministry, Christian attorneys may sustain their charitable legal work and recruit other Christian attorneys to help.

Sacred Harbor envisions a Christian practice of law that reinforces a person’s identity in Christ and in the Body of Christ, and therefore Sacred Harbor seeks to unify the Christians providing care to families in need. Legal aid is often urgent and critically necessary, but it is almost never the root cause of the issues faced. Collaboration with other Christian ministries allows us to completely serve our neighbor, just as the Good Samaritan leaned on the innkeeper to complete the care for the wounded man.

We have seen Jesus Christ literally perform miracles in the lives of families who our legal partners have helped so far. So we have come to believe that if we can work as the Body of Christ to love our struggling brothers and sisters, then we will experience peace and healing through the power of Jesus Christ.

His mercy endures forever.

Psalm 107

25 For He commands and raises the stormy wind,
Which lifts up the waves of the sea.
26 They mount up to the heavens,
They go down again to the depths;
Their soul melts because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,
And are at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brings them out of their distresses.
29 He calms the storm,
So that its waves are still.
30 Then they are glad because they are quiet;
So He guides them to their desired haven.
31 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people,
And praise Him in the company of the elders.
